Remedial massage is the systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management. A remedial therapist must have knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology to determine where to treat patients. Remedial massage therapists understand that a patient’s needs are unique, and therefore particular remedial massage techniques need to be selected with clinical expertise and applied in a way that suits that patient.

Therapists Stephanie Polmear and Rebecca Flint are passionate remedial massage practitioners with decades of years experience between them. Our massage team are backed by a wealth of experience in four physiotherapists who are always available for further expertise and guidance in your treatment plans if required. We are a close knit team at Physiozest and our massage practitioners and physiotherapists are always working together to provide optimal treatment options for our patients.

Stephanie is also trained to use dry needling as part of your treatment plan. Speak to your therapist about including needling in your session.

Pregnancy Massage

Our remedial massage therapists are trained to provide massage to pregnant patients. There are a range of benefits for massage during pregnancy, which may include:

  • Reduced muscle pain and tension

  • Improved sleep

  • Reduced muscle cramps

  • Reduced stress & anxiety

  • Improved blood flow & reduced swelling

  • Relaxation

For pregnancy massage we have a specialised pillow to allow the patient to lie face-down comfortably so the therapist can access common problems areas such as low back, glutes, hamstrings and adductors. Alternatively the therapist can have the patient in side lying.

Our remedial massage therapists work closely with other practitioners in the clinic to ensure patients are provided with optimal care during their pregnancy.
